I opened the auction house for myself because I was lazy and email auctions were just too much trouble to run. Keeping track of all those emails, who's bid was first, and all those lost emails. It gave me a headache.
So I opened the auction house and put 300 of my items up for auction.... I sold them all in a matter of 10 days or so, much shorter time than if it had been an email auction.
I got so many emails from people asking if they could post their items too I finally opened it up for others to sell also.
I wanted to make it a place where people could buy and sell and have fun. It's a lot of work, much more than I thought it would be, but it is worth it everytime I hear "Great Job Cleo!"
That is the person's feedback rating. Your feedback rating is given to you as you buy or sell items by the people you deal with. It is a big part in keeping people honest and far in our auction.
Unlike normal everyday auctions our auctions are run more like the amunet auction in game.
Auctions are done in a Going once, twice, three times, sold format.
Items change their status every 24 hours and will restart the going once, twice, three times count with every new bid. This is what the status system means.
Item Status:
Waiting For Bid... Bid Now! = Item has no bids and is waiting for one. Bid Just Made = A Bid has been made within the last 6 hours. Going once has not been called yet. Going Once!! = Item is on it's first call. It has been 6 hours since a higher bid has been made. Going Twice!! = Item on it's second call, it has been 30 hours since a higher bid has been made. Going Three Times... Last Chance!! = Item is on it's final call. It has been 54 hours since a higher bid has been made and will close within the next 24 hours or less. SOLD! Bidding is now closed = Item is sold.
